2000 Ranger Transmission Problems
Ok it just might be the transmission is on its last leg but I need help.
As of Sunday the Overdrive light is flashing periodically. Not every time but I would say about 50% of the time. And now I noticed that its not catching gears as easy as it used to now the motor revs to about 3000 RPM's and barely catches from 1st to 2nd. If I let off the gas it will catch. Between all gears its seems to be doing the same thing. Are the 2 problems related? Any help wpuld be appreciated. Will trans cleaner/treatment help Here are the vitals on the truck 2000 Ford Ranger Extended Cab 2WD 180,000 Miles. Yes I am still paying on it:-X16 |

Is the fluid level OK? How does the fluid look? Has it been flushed regularly?
The flashing OD indicates the PCM my have a code, some parts store will pull the codes for free. |
just did a 14 point oil change (and radiator flush) fluid level is clean and a lil over full thats why I dont wanna put the cleaner in there yet til that goes down. I might have em flush it this w/e. 180,000 is pretty good though even if it does go out. but I want it to go MORE MORE MORE I wanna go to 1,000,000 miles darn it. I will go back to Auto Zone and have em read it. I wasnt sure if it would come up with anything since its not a check engine light problem.
