90mm maf on 00 lightning

i am thinking about purchasing a 90mm maf for my 2000 lightning, does anyone know if i have to change anything like the inlet boot or anything else to install this on my truck, i just ordered a diablo sport predator so i can tune every thing in together. thanks for any help.

Everything else should remain the same

I also upgraded my stock 80mm MAF to a 90mm MAF on my '99 L. Along with the FMS 90mm MAF, I also purchased a new inlet boot so I don't know if the one sized for your 80mm MAF will work.

Remember though, unless your stock airbox has been changed to an '01 and up airbox, or you changed to an aftermarket setup, the opening in your stock airbox going to your MAF will still only be 80mm.

All trucks are different, but you shouldn't need to tune the truck after upgrading to the 90mm. I was told by my local dealership I wouldn't have to, and the majority consensus of what I read at the different Lightning forums stated I wouldn't have to either. I was told the computer will read the 90 and compensate accordingly. Everyone was right. I didn't have to tune or reflash my computer. It took to the 90mm MAF like a duck takes to water, with ZERO problems. No pinging (detonation), idle problems, or MPG issues.

I have a mustang and am going to a 90mm lightning maf and need the part from the filter to the maf. Is that what you meant by 'inlet boot'? Where do you find one the right size?

for a 90mm upgrade as long as you dont have more boost than stock(ie pulleys) than the stock computer will compensate for the meter. it will lean it out though. you'll need the 90mm the boot and a airbox desinged for the 90mm entry like was mentioned above.if you have any kind of pulley or supercharger upgrade (ported blower or kb/whipple) than i would hope you had already did a chip. the tune for the predator needs to be adjusted for this upgrade as well.
