Doin' the Hokie Pokie

So how do we make this forum more active?

So, You put your left hand in > you pull your left hand out
You put your left hand in and shake it all about
You do the Okie Poke & you turn yourselves around
That's what it's all about.

Okie version:

You vote your Chapter Leader in,
You pull the boredom part out,
You vote your Chapter Leader in and you
toss the thoughts around
You do the Okie Pokie and
you turn your chapter on,
That's what it's all about :)

You put your comments in,
Of most you have no doubt,
You put more ideas back in & you
Toss them all about,
You talk about all things that
will surely be make you proud,
That's what it's all about :)

besides:
Get together's,
Logo Creation
Community affairs
Cruise's

What makes a great chapter greater ?

You can't just sit around, one has to create its destiny.

What's you answer to this question ?

boy i tell ya, ive been trying to get people more active in these aspects, but ive noticed in the 13 years ive lived in oklahoma, that getting people to participate in things is very tricky around these parts....but i will keep plugging on in my quest.....speaking of logos, i have been wondering about that subject myself, i would love to have a slick looking sticker for my rig that would let people know about this site, at least the ones that i dont get to tell personally, i tell every Ford owner i come across.....maybe we will have a few more members thanx to me, who knows........

I created an Invitation to FTE handbill. It is designed to personally One on One let people know about FTE & what it stands for.

Let's get active

I would like to see us get organized in Oklahoma and start meetings in each region on a regular basis. I'm in Enid and would like to start getting involved with some local get togethers. A cruise to Okarche for Eichen's chicken would be cool. We have one of the best BBQ places in the state out at Lahoma-Turkey Creek BBQ.

One of the big problems here is how far away from each other we are, and we all seem to have completely different schedules.

As for the logo, I think that many (not only in our chapter) lost a little of the drive after the whole saga with the High Plains Drifters.

Frankly Trax, that is a problem.

I have the worst imaginable schedule. I'm in college working on my Bachelors
degree in Science of Nursing, my mortgage payment is $1700.00 a month and
I work in a large correctional facility (read here prison) and my work hours
are always being shuffled around because I'm "per diem" instead of "full time".
I live in the middle of a 'burb called Broken Arrow, which is exactly a 30 minute drive from everything with all the traffic a large city like Tulsa can dish out. And worst yet, I'm (hopefully temporarily) piloting a MINIVAN!!!!
That, my friend, is truly insult upon injury.

Life is sheer refried habenero sauced hell with cheese on top.

But just between you and me...

The distance factor is a universal thing. It don't go away.
The time factor too.
But people are still worth it.
And I will do what I want to do. And can do, as one person.
It may be in bite sized pieces, but I'll do it. Starting with Broken Arrow
and Bixby, Coweta and Wagoner.

Bite sized pieces.

Mil1ion, thanks for the flyer- do I have your's and FTE's permission to distribute these in my area? No alterations- just the addition of my name
on the "Invited by" line? I'd like to keep a stack of these handy, so when
I see someone with a Ford truck, I can walk up to them and say...

"Hi, my name is Mark... have I got something to share with you!!!"

Far as the OK FTE Logo goes? I'm not worried about it for now- there
are some great folks in our sister chapter- Kansas FTE- that'll be glad to
help, if we ask. :-X25

Arnold- I'm a BBQ ADDICT- and Eichen's chicken sounds mighty tasty. :-X03

I just had someone from the posts email me from Iraq- after he got my invite to meet here in our hometown of Broken Arrow. Distance don't mean squat.
People do. God bless you SPC Isaac Veron aka "blueislandedge02"! We will
meet one day soon! Until then, watch out for them moving sandpiles, bro! :-X10

Well Mark, if you want to post a time and date for your BA/Coweta meet, I'm sure that the Owasso boy's and us Claremore people will do our best to make it out to say... BA? Time really is a problem, for me especially. I too am in the same situation as you Mark in that I am going for my BA, taking 16 hrs. this semester alone, and I work full-time plus some. Here is my schedule, if we can work around it, fantastic, perhaps we should all post our schedules and decide from that when would be the best time to gtg (although I've asked for this before but to no avail).

Monday/Wed: Classes- 9-10AM, 2-3:15 PM Work 5-10
Tuesday/Thursday: Classes 9:30-11AM, 2-3:30PM Work 5-10
Friday: Classes 9-10AM, 12-4PM
Sat/Sunday: Work 5:30AM-4:30PM
Sunday: Church 6-7PM

Yup... it's a pretty ugly schedule, and unfortionately this doesn't include any study time. But I'm willing to see what we can work out.

dakota_viking 01-11-2005 10:12 AM

OK guys, I've been away from FTE for a few days, but I would be willing to do the BA thing too!

As for a logo, here's what I had been working on and Stan you have seen this one, but everybody can let me know what you think and if anybody likes it, I'll finish digitizing it and see what we can do with it after that.

that is one sweet logo! all in favor say aye!!!

lets see, my schedule,

mon-fri, wake up about 9-10 am, take the dog out bout 9;30-10;30, check out the tv, [125 channels of nothing], wait for the wife to get home from work1-2 pm, watch t v and go to bed.

sat-sund, [ see mon - fri].

i think i could fit a meet/gtg in there somewhere!

SwOkcOffRoader 01-11-2005 02:16 PM

i think its a great start, but maybe the truck should be towing a covered wagon instead of being one?? my 2 cents.........

Traxxis 01-12-2005 04:44 PM

That's just it though, the actual FTE logo cannot be altered in any way if I understood the results of the saga.

Other than that, aye. It looks nice, it really does, but as stated before, I do not believe we can have these made into actual decals for legal reasons.
