Thanks for the web sites! I downloaded AVG antivirus software for free and i dont see it any more. Found a virus and removed it.

AVG is a great A/V program, just keep checking for updates every couple of days or if you have DSL or cable set it to automatically check for updates. I hope you have a firewall too, if not, zonealarm.com freebee too.

I use AVG too and I think it's very good.

If you have a broadband connection use a router between your computer and the modem also.

This also lets you share your internet connection with the "other half" so they can have their own computer...

eric has it correct! i've used a linksys firewall router for a few years at the advise of my isp, have not had a problem since, keep your virus scan up to date, maybe add addaware a free program that finds dataminers and some spyware

I had a similar problem with a kernel.32 while trying to run a game cd. My CDROM drive crashed and had to get another. Turned out that one was no good and the kernel.32 dll was corrupted. Got a burner to back up files with and use this as my general cd drive.

Trojans, worms, and malware will not show up on AVG though (I have this also) So a good cleaning with Ad Aware and Spybot S&D is the way to go. Wilders Security has TDS-3 you can get to catch Trojans with. There is an
Online Malware Scan that helped me pinpoint a suspicious one and it told me what it as.

"HijackThisLog" is another small program to get and post on forums like "TechSupportGuy" for the moderators to look at. It certainly helped me with a trojan I picked up.
