v10 cylinder numbers/ firing order...

Hello,

Anyone know the firing order and the cylinder numbers on a v10...it is a 200 f-350 4x4.... Also best way to remove coil and boot without damaging boot!

Thanks,
Doug

Looking at the engine. Left side bank, cylinder #1 is the closest one to you.
Count from there to the back of LH bank. #6 is first one on the right bank. #10 is the last.

Question #2. Pull straight up while twisting.

firing order, coils and plugs

thanks..

I was told the firing order is 1-6-5-10-2-7-3-8-4-9 but i asked because in a regular ol distributor car they can get out of order..but i guess without a distributor...who cares since the connectors are pinned to the rail....so all i need was the cylinder numbers you gave me....i have a code...obd2 says cyl number 3 misfire and the manual (for the reader) says check wire plug and coil....or o2 sensor... weell who knows how old the plugs are but I image it cant be so screwed up to misfire..never really seen that...plug wires usually...and there really qre no wires...so i was told on here before usually a coil...ikes 10 of them to go bad.....no moisture there and I cant see it at night...so I am going to replace it I guess. What are your thoughts on this? Is there a web site or a way to diagnose plug wear (I supose besides a mechanic....where i've tried with other vehichles and get 10 different responses about what the worn plug means)

PS gas mileage seems to have dropped to an all time low...and tranny slipps a little when misfiring...plus at cruise speed with slight acceleration you can feel the truck shake...all of which I assume is a misfire in that number 3 messin with it.....just curious your take..

Thanks again,

Doug

Sounds like the COP is bad. Luckily they are readily avialbe at reputable auto parts stores. I don't think it is a problem with the plug itself unless it is cracked or somethin'.

How many miles are on your truck?

Are they the stock plugs?

I wouldn't worry about the tranny slipping until you get the engine running right. I doubt your tranny is slipping is why. :)

Well the truck has 113k on it I was told at 96k when i bought it had been tuned..but who knows..i should change them....probably the originals....Any idea on plug recomendations. I like the idea of fuel efficient ones..like split or bosh..they have that one with the oxy sensor and some guarantee/....but does it really matter? What of factory orig ones?

What is A COP?

Thanks

Doug

The Motorcraft Platinums are as good as any.

BTW - your above post on firing order is correct (1-6-5-10-2-7-3-8-4-9)

What is A COP?

Thanks

Coil Over Plug.

Well....1 new coil and 10 new plugs....1 plug was a platinum oem plug the rest were regular....so I put doubles back in.....but 1 cyl was missing the cap to the plug (part threads on to top).... I had a misfire there now and asgain but havn't seen it since I replaced the plug...will update yall on mileage..

By the way...anyone have problems with that whine in a custom stereo on fords? Mine has a tick and then a high pitched whine that veries with acceleration. not sure if it is a groud problem that masy be ford typical; that can be corrected....But styereo was in another vehichle no whine and other fodrs have.... Anyway..

Thanks folks,

Doug
