1994 ford ranger mass air flow problems
 

Ihave a 1994 ford ranger with 2.3l 4 cylinder engine. i have replced the egr valve, egr relay and now is giving me a mass air flow error when i read the computer. the engine makes a reving noise and doesn't have good power. my gas milage has gone from 20 mpg to 15 mpg. also if the vehicle stalls when backing up i can't start the vehicle and the computer gives me an open fuel pump relay. if i let the truck sit for about 10 minutes it will start. if anyone can help me i'd appreciate it.

did you try taking off your gas cap
if this works
look at your fuel return lines & canister
may be stoped up

Similiar set of circumstances on my 95 contour turned out to be blocked Catalytic Converter.

Please help. I desperately need to know how to read the computer on my 93 ranger. There is an ECC TEST module with 6 connections near my power distribution box on the left. I've been getting a check engine light occasionally and have been wanting to know how to read the codes. http://dalidesign.com/hbook/eectest.html has some info but I'd like to know how you do it. I have 94 Ranger 4.0 with similar symtoms: will stall sometimes after releasing accelerator or sometimes after shutting off the engine if I try to restart immediately it only cranks. If I leave it sit for 10 min. it starts OK. Sometimes when idling for no reason the RPM increases a little as if it was about to stall and the computer gives it more gas.

How did you finally fix the 93 Ranger?
