Michigan Junkyard location

I started this thread so everyone can list Pick & Pull junkyards with the older stuff and where they are at. Hopefully this list will help save everyone a little change when it comes to finding parts for our old money pits.

Near Taylor, Romulus

I get a lot of my parts from Taylor Auto Salvage. It's off telegraph south just after the 75 entrance ramp on the left (east) side on a dirt road I don't know the name of. They used to have a lot of trucks there, but in MI, thats a seasonal thing. They section all the vehicles out and have them all on welded up rims on thick gravel. Pretty decent, found some good bargains there. Bring a wheel barrow...ford trucks are in the far back left.
I have a Bronco now, and have only seen a Bronco in the junkyard once in my life...would like to find one with a few closeby if anyones knows of. I remember a huge one somewhere down 96 and something lake area, they had a *%&#-load of trucks but forget what its called or where it is.

Lapeer County

Bob's Auto Parts (810-793-7500) at M-90 & M24 in northern Lapeer County is a good spot for older (pre-80's) and antique truck & car parts. It's pretty neat just to walk thru...reminds of the classic 50's type junkyard I remember as a kid.

Theres a huge junkyard in monroe. Sottiles Auto Parts 15196 Telegraph. 800-383-8524. They had about 25 f-series trucks the last time I was there. CTS auto parts is right next to Taylor Auto Salvage. The yard is really messy and muddy but worth looking through.

U-Wrench it in Kalamazoo is on East Michigan Avenue. From I-94 take Sprinkle road north several miles and turn left on E. Michigan. It's about .5 mile on the right. There is also a U-Wrench-it in Holland on Chicago drive off of U.S 31.

1982fordf100, boy our trucks sure look alot alike ( your red one ) what motor and trans does it have in it? look at my gallery to see my ameteur transformation from XL work truck to XL attention getter

It has the 300 and M50D. I had to have the 300. I didn't want a 302 or 351W. I've seen your truck before on here. I haven't put a single dime into it for appereance, only maitenance. Its my daily driver with 133k miles now. Bought it 4 1/2 years ago with my own money for $6900 with 73k miles on it at the time. I like my 82 F100 more and its my slow restoration project. Has your truck started to get any rust yet? My 95 has, it used to look good but michigan winters take there toll on the body.

luckly i have no rust yet, but i have a feeling the passenger door and the tailgate will be the first to go

Lapeer junk yard

I was out looking for parts for my truck and found
A 68 or 69 F100 and some 78and 79 ford trucks. The
68 or 69 has a good radiator support and fender aprons
and some other parts.

Lapeer junk yard east of lapeer on old 21

the 78 and 79 look like some good parts to.

A few I know of with truck parts. I don't know if any of these places have newer trucks, just older stuff.

Barnum's in Vassar, on Vassar rd. he's got loads of older trucks, and usually the yard is segmented into brands.

Cliff's, last I knew he was open. he deals in southern body parts. He's between Otisville and Davison on M-15. seems to deal mostly in Chevy but I've known him to have old Fords

A sweet yard to walk through is this place north of Vestaburg, on Vestaburg rd. Can't think of the name, but it's about 10 miles or so north of M-46 on the west side of the road. lots of cars visible from the road. the yard dates back to the '20s. The yard is heavily wooded, and many vehicles are wooded in. I burned up an afternoon walking through there and didn't see half of what he had. nothing stacked, all spread out. couple hundred acres easy.

U wrench it salvage yards: my kind of tourist attraction

Trolz Auto Parts is a good sized yard. There located between Jackson and Grass Lake on Ann Arbor RD. Just south of I-94 west of Race RD.
