Expedition Power Folding mirrors

His anyone added power folding mirrors to a 2003 expedition. If someone could tell me if this is possible, it would be really helpful.

I would also like to know this.

By power folding mirrors are you referring to: (1)the mirror being power (up; down; left; right) and having to manually fold them in; or (2) not only the mirrors being power but they also fold in/out by power.

I recently purchased a '05 EB Expedition and only have the former. The User Manual has a reference to a feature that power folds the mirrors, but that feature is not on my vehicle nor is it available on the option list. I asked my Ford Service Advisor about replacing the mirrors with the ones that have the power fold feature. He said that this is a new feature and they have not yet seen it as being available. So he is not sure if I can retrofit.

The powerfolding mirrors are only available on the 2005 Limited Expedition, I actually think they are standard on the Limited editions.

POWER FOLDING would be great for us all.

But do they sell this? Can we install it with our exisiting EB without problems like drilling holes and etc.

I think the '05s could be retrofitted with the powerfolding mirrors however, I'm not sure about the '03s or '04s because their mirror controller is a bit different than the '05s.

03 and up Navis have them

The '03+ Navigators also have a different mirror control switch than '03+ Expedition. The '03+ Expedition mirror controller is located near the A pillar attached to the door panel, the '03+ Navigator has the mirror controller on the arm rest of the door panel as the window switches are located on the center console, not on the door. The '05 Limited Expedition has the mirror control switch located in the same spot as the '03 and '04, however, it is a different type of switch, similar to that in the Explorer. In order to powerfold the mirrors, the switch has to be in the center, neutral position, then pushed either to the left or to the right to powerfold them inward. To power-unfold them, push the switch opposite the direction pushed to initially fold them inward. The mirror switch ( and corresponding wiring) from an '05 may possibly be able to replace that of an '03 or '04, along with powerfold-ready mirrors. One would have to contact a dealership and speak with a knowledgeable technician in order to find out if this can properly be done.
