I bought a Lear, caught it on sale for $769.00. Good fit, nice color match.

Fiberglass or aluminum?

Had an aluminum cap w/ my '84 Ranger. It was great, fairly easy to handle by myself. Got a Leer fiberglass for my '95 S-10: hard to handle so I built a rig in garage so could slide it onto a rack when I wanted to take it off. Now have an '04 F150 and would like to get a cap but back to aluminum. Are new ones hard to find or what? I like the idea because they are fairly lightweight when compared to fiberglass and you can do better with ladder/tool racks. Any suggestions? (anyone notice that I run my trucks about 10 years?...)

I've been very happy with all of the Century caps that I've owned, including the one on my current F150.

The Leer you priced was over priced to start off with or the century was underpriced. There is not a $600 difference between comparable tops. If there was Leer would be out of business.

makes good tops with prices ranging from around $750 to over $2000.
