Cant get Edge Lift in WA State

Hello all,

I've been to several shops here in the Seattle area. Olympic offroad(Tacoma), Les Schwab, etc. It seems that no one will install a lift that they don't carry and no one carries the donahue racing Edge system in this state.

So options for my 01 V10 Crew cab are:

a) get a fabtech, tough country, rancho, etc Lift kit

b) get Edge installed in California (going on a trip down there next month)

c) get 285 BFG's put on my 7 inch wheels and call it good enough

My concerns with option a) is quality, durability, reliability and concerns with option b) is logisitics after the install. What happens if there are problems, how to get the required check ups (300 mile, etc)

Any thoughts from the more knowledgable on here. I've been on this site a while and love the look/capability of a lifted truck, but have never owned a lifted vehicle.

Thanks for any input

Tony

I would stay away from tough country lifts........

Do the rode trip.......you'll be happier

What about going to Grants Pass? At least they are a little closer and no sales tax. :-X22

I agree with huntercgr. I've contacted Wheelers about the DR lift and they were really helpfull.

Thanks for the replies,

Wheelers in Grants pass has the lifts for sale but not install, so I'd have to buy the kit and then find someone to install it. That's kind of what I was thinking, but after speaking with several shops here that doesn't sound like it's going to happen.

As far as the Road trip plan, assuming I get the lift down there what do I do as far as maintaining it or if I run into problems?? I think that you are supposed to bring the truck back at 300 miles and then at 1000-1500 for another look see to verify everthing's tight and that there are no problems.

Those checkups will be impossible at the installation shop (CA) and I'm not sure if the local shops would look at it, fee or no fee.

Anyway, there's always plan c) but that's no fun

Did you check to see if there were any BDS dealers or skyjacker or superlift. From what most people say edge most be the best, but not everyone can get the best for what ever reason. There are some other lift to pick from you just need to pick the best one out of all you have to chose from and live with it, I think that would be better than no lift at all! Good luck!

I was in the exact same boat in Massachusetts. I contacted BDS (my 2nd choice), at "sales@bds-suspension.com or call 517-279-8807"

They sent me the name of a dealer in my state. The parts are warrantied for life. The shop is "turn-key". Got a 6" lift with 37" tires. No vibration and free followup visits. Upgrade to Bilstiens if you go with anyone but Edge.

No install? Bummer. Well, if you really want option b, maybe the shop in Ca. can show you what to do/look for after 300 mile and 1500 miles. It could be something simple that you can do yourself, and maybe with a phone conversation with them while you're doing it.

How bout you install it yourself?? You won't find an easier truck to do it too...

You can purchase and have installed an Edge kit in Cranbrook, BC. That's where I went to have mine done. Good price and quality work.

I remembered a user on another site who had a DR lift installed in WA....so I sent him a PM and here is his response:

Eastside custom truck in Kirkland. They did a great job, although when he schedules it, make sure he tells them he wants to schedule a day that they can complete the install in one day and not need to keep the truck overnight.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all for the replies. I've got a couple of phone calls to make to get something figured out.
