97 ford ranger wouldnt start!

I have a 97-ford ranger regular cab with the 2.3 L. I have a story to share that might save one of you a headache. One day I was leaving work and giving a co-worker a ride home. We got in the truck and I went to start it, just as it started it died. I tried to restart it. It just turned over with out firing. I checked everything, fuses, battery, starter, etc.. Nothing worked. Well after going threw the owner’s manual I found a section on a switch that shuts down the fuel intake incase the vehicle is in an accident. I thought maybe while I was at work the truck was struck so I looked for damage. Didn’t find anything, so I searched for the switch. All it said in the book was the switch was located on the floor pan of the truck where the firewall and the floor pan meet. It was on the passenger side, and it took an hour to find it. It was well hidden. The switch wasn’t tripped however the wires were pulled out of it. My co-worker, who left as soon as the truck wouldn’t start, must have pulled the wires loose with his boot. The switch is behind the carpet right where a tall person could easily reach it. Although nothing serious wrong with it, and it started as soon as the wires was plugged back in, this was a major set back and head ache.

<O:p</O:p

I thought I would share this story in case this happens to someone else.
