i ended up not gettin those 31"s... but i ordered a body lift today and i am wonderin whats the biggest tires i could put on with a 3" body lift?

I am running 265-75-16's on a 98 Ranger without a lift, No rubbing with moderate off roading. I would worry more about gear ratio. I have 4.10s in mine, I dont have a problem with get up and go but yhe tires throws the spedo off by 4 mph.

Well, I do not know if you have a 2wd or a 4wd but I just put 31x10.50's on 99 Ranger 4x4 with no lift so i would imagine with 3 inches of lift you could get a couple more inches of tires under there!

I have a 2K w/ 3" body lift. I could put 285/75R16 tires on it with no problem. These are on the factory rims. I now have 33x12.50R15 on AR-136 15x10 wheels, still only 3" body lift. I had to crank up my T-Bars just a little, to stiffen up the front end to prevent bottoming out, but no problems and I've been that way for about 20K miles!
