how low is your truck?

and how is it lowered?
does it scrape?
what tires are you running?

Measuring at the front and rear of the running boards. Front 6 1/4" Rear 7 3/4.

My front needs to come up for better A arm geometry. And less lean coming out of turn four. :) I like the look of about 1 to 1 1/2" rake from front to rear of boards, so I should be in there.

I don't scrape, but I pay attention for that possibility. I easily could bottom my front bumper entering a real steep driveway or bad chuck hole in the road.

Lowering methods- Volare IFS, rear 2 inch drop shackles, front shackle on rear spring is raised up to top of frame. Four stock leaves. Suspension travel not compromised at all. Running tall tires. The guy with the shortest tires wins the lowering competition, but I like the look of tires as tucked as possible. Ride is always marginally nicer will taller tires too.

now granted there is little on my flat garage floor to scrape on... and this is without the front flip and probably another 200-300 # of stuff hanging over the suspension... but the A-arms are flat now... think I'm gonna have to go to taller springs... these are 11" 500# jobs from pro spring and I'm concerned already

Stock suspension, stock height. Never scrapes. ;)

Mine is 8.25 inches at the front of the running boards. The tires are P205 75 R15. The back end is still on jack stands. My rear tires have been orderd and received I am waiting on the rear wheels 15 x 10's. I also want the rear even or maybe a little high so I should be between 8.25 and 9.25 inches at the rear of the running boards.

7 3/8 front...8 1/4 rear. Stock type reversed eye leaf srings all around; flipped rear axle. Had no idea what it was until I went out and measured for this thread. It looks just right. I'm not crazy about ass draggers and too much higher, it wouldn't have that perfect street rod look.

Dont know exactly how low the whole truck will be but at the moment the running boards are 3" from the ground with my bags deflated. The front suspension still has to be put in but it will definately get it almost on the ground. Oh its bagged so the truck will still be completly drivable when done.

OK, I know some of you guys kept telling me to get reversed eyes springs, etc. Yesterday, I tore into the front suspension on my 56. I took one leaf out on the front. As most know, I only wanted to bring the front down a little because I lowered the rear 3"s. To make a long story short. It brought the front down about 3/4". With the 245/60/15's I still have about 1/2 to 3/4" clearance. (no rubbing) The ride didn't sacrifice either. I'm extremely happy with the stance now. I'll be posting some pics so you guys can check out the results.
As for lowering. I raised the rear leaf mount to the top of frame (just like fatfenders) I'm running 4 leafs on the rear (just like fatfenders LOL). I'm also running tall tires 275/60/15 on the rear. The front. 2" drop axle straight axle front end. One leaf removed. I'm measuring 63/4" in the front and exactly 8" in the rear. And it's staying that way. Hasn't bottomed out yet? I will be staying with the same size tires, just getting rid of the bias ply tires in the rear. Gotta have radials all around.

suppose i have to give up my vitals to , so here goes.
7" front of running board / 8-1/4" in the back.
tires are 215/75 front - 235/70 rear.(for now.)
drop axle up front+ lowering springs - lowering springs+shackles rear.
will need ifs+ coil-over`s soon.

Check out the black 51 in the December issue of Classic Truck Magazine. It has a 4" dropped axle and reverse eye springs. It looks great, I would like to do the same to my 51.

with all that i did i think i am maybe 3 -4 inches tops from the ground to my lake pipes. they are 2 inch lakers. drop axle, removed leafs, etc... i will have to measure once its finally bolted on.
