OEM running boards with lights installation

I have a 2003 F150 Super Crew XLT and I purchased a set of used OEM running boards with lights, from a 2002 King Ranch Super Crew model. The lights are to be activated for illumination when a door is opened, not like running lights. Included is the short light harness (about 16") which is meant to run from the light fixture located near the B post up to the rocker panel (under the scuff plates) and connect somewhere to the main harness. The short harness has a 2-pin female connector. Since my truck did not come with this option, there is no male connector to be found with the existing wiring. I wish for the lights to work when any of the 4 doors are opened and possibly when the keyfob "unlock" is activated, with interior lights. Does anyone have info on how Ford wires these, or best way to achieve my goal?

If I remember correctly, the interior lights are controlled by a black wire with a pink stripe. You should be able to locate it in the harness under the scuff plates. The other wire from the lights should be grounded to the frame.

Thanks for the tip GREY FORD. I will look for the interior light wire today and use my test light to verify the signal. I have the sample schematic from Alldata website for the 93 Ranger Supercab and it shows a cross point from the main light switch and the door switches which then single leads (black/light blue) to the dome light. If I can tap into that single lead I should be right on.
