Installing a CB Radio in 2004 (Heritage) F150 XLT

Just bought a new 2004 Heritage Supercab with everything. Everything that is except for a CB radio. Has anyone installed a CB in their new Heritage. I'm looking for suggestions on where to place the radio. Would really miss my CB while traveling on the Pennsylvania Turnpike! 8D

I dont have the heritage, I have the new body style. But you can check out my gallery for ideas.

There is another thread just for heritage trucks (one pick down from this one). You might want to check it out.

Mines a micro-Radio Shack version, nestled in my bank of controls for the emergency equipment located between the front two seats. Not very hidden... and it stinks to be the one sitting in the middle seat!

People still use CB's???

I assume the OP has a bench seat. I have the captains' chairs - so if/when I decide to put a 2 meter/440 radio or scanner in my truck I'll just attach it to the console over the transmission hump.

Are there any rubber grommets leading out the back floor of the cab under the carpet or just out the firewall?

Yes, there is a huge one under the passenger foot area. I have 4 8g, 2 4g, and a few smaller wires all going through it.

There is a grommet on the drive side up above the gas pedal. Also if you have the 60/40 seats. You will find that the radio can be attached to the plastic reinforcment under the center section. It even had holes in it already. I just penetrated the fabric and mounted my 2M radio with easy reach of the driver.

Sorry to hijack the thread....

But, grafekie, what fire/rescue are you affiliated with? I saw your gallery but didn't see the tell-tale fire plate up front.

I'm a Firefighter/EMT with East Derry currently (On-Call). Hoping to get on a full-time spot sometime this year if things go well..... :)

Simpsonville KY :) We don't have plates here, just an optional one from the state.
