1997 expedition firing order
 

could someone please tell me the firing order for my 1997 5.4 ltr expy. particullarly where the number 7 cylinder is. thank you very much

No. 7 cylinder is on the driver's side, 2nd from the back, so from the fan towards the cab, the cylinders are numbered 5-6-7-8.

I have a spec for '99-up 5.4L, and that order is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8; however, that's for Coil-On-Plug. I can't guarantee the order hasn't been changed since the move from wires, but I doubt it. (I'm guessing you got confused on plug wires??)

If you clean off the coil packs really well there might be numbers by each wire tower that says what # wire goes where.

Has the firing order ever changed for 5.4/4.6l motors???

I don't think that the firing order has ever changed on the Modular engines.
