HELP!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 98 Ford Ranger PU. Problem is I start the truck it will run for about 10-15 seconds, then it will start spitting and sputring and die out. It has died on me before while driving it. Cant seem to figure it out. Have already changed the fuel filter, and that still didnt fix the problem. ANYONE GOT AN SUGGESTIONS? Please help.

Can you describe the problem in a little more detail? Does it happen when the truck is idling or being driven, warm or cold, transmission, etc?

It would help to put a fuel pressure gage on this and see what happens when the problem occurs. That will at least give you a clue as to whether it's fuel or something else like ignition or some sensor.

What motor is in it? How many miles? Any lights flashing on the dash? Could be a fuel pump, but I'd hate to go through that job and find out it's not. Does it lose power while driving or just quit altogether?

I have 94 4.0 that does this, loet it sit a little and it starts right up like nothing happened right?:-X18

Well i was gonna go the fuel pump route and everything, got the truck put on a computer for analysis and found I have a bad main computer and thats what controls everything.:(

Try to get an analysis by a computer system to see if they can find what may be wrong. I am not talking about a code checker but a snap-on computer system that can tell ya what codes your truck should show by VIN. I tried the code reader got all kinds of codes, found out from the computer system that most did not apply to my VIN truck.

Should run $50-75 depending on the shop you take it to. ;)
