What is the fastest Ford you have ever had?
 

What is the fastest tire burning, paint blistering Ford you have ever owned? As for me I have had several that were pretty fast and it would be hard to say which was the fastest because I did not have 1/4 mile time slips on all of them and if I had it would not have been accurate because I was living in different parts of the country at different altitudes when I had the different cars. I had a 428 Fairlane, a 1971, 429 CJ mustang, a 1971 Cougar Boss 351. These would rank as the three fastest production cars I have had. The engine from the 71 Cougar is now resting between the frame rails of my 56 F-100. I do feel that it is probably faster in the F-100 than it was in the Cougar for the simple fact that the F-100 weights less than the Cougar. My current 2004 supercharged Falcon GT-P has around 550rear wheel hp with the new exhaust and induction system, haven't run a 1/4 mile with it, but I would expect around low 12's if I did.

I have a mate with a 1971 Falcon Phase III GTHO, and that has 285 hp at the rear wheels from its 351C, was the fastest and most powerful production sedan for quite a while... and its one ripsnorter of a car...

Well my 352 puts out 320HP and 400ftlbs of torque. It will lay down rubber like you would not beleive. I can easily chirp the wheels in 4th. I race it alot and rarley lose. The fastet I have been in it is 110 floored on a big straight away. I think it had just a bit more juice left but it was near redline anyway. I would not want to go any faste in a manual steering truck with non- power brakes!

My 1992 E150, I've had it well over 120mph.......

I had to be about 1982 or so,,,and that would have to be my 65' Mustang Fastback, 289', 4-speed with 3:89 gear and a 9" rear, 289, had been re-built, crane Fireball cam, .30 over pistons, Lakewood blow shield, Hays street/stip clutch/pressure plate, the 9" came out of a 68' Cougar,,,That car ran,,,would do a great 2nd gear burnrun!

One 4th of July, (we had partys back then alot),,we decided to have some fun, me and my buddies like 20 of us, decided to race a bit, was a Buddies 67' Camaro 327, a 68' Nova 350, and me and my 65' Fastback 289',,,, well the road we used had a bridge that washed out , and was closed,,so no traffic ,,it was fun,,, my 2 cousins road with me in my Mustang,, they were actually both Chevy guys,,,but my cousins non the less,,, I can remember them yelling ,,,," You Got em,,You Got em",, well until I missed 3rd gear lol by then we had to back off,, the end of the road was coming up,,,,this 289 impressed alot of guys that day when it was running against a 327 and a 350 and holding it's own,, was great fun,,only lasted like 30 mins, nobody got hurt,,and was time to head back to the party and get a beer. :-X22

Had to be my '66 Fairlane 500 (bench seat car). 390, Engle solid lifter cam, Holley 780 four-shooter, top-loader 4 speed, 3800 lb. clutch, 3.89 9" EquaLok, no power steering, no power brakes. Man, I miss that car.

My dad gifted me his 65 Falcon Ranchero that he special ordered. Red, black leather, 289 HP (high performance w 4bbl), BorgWarner T10, 4.10:1 rear, factory dual exhaust.

I drove it stock for a few years then painted it Targa Blue metalic, narrowed the rear to fit tubs and Mickey Thompson N50x15s under it. All the typical engine mods of the day and think I had it up over 300HP.

Seattle International raceway time slips said I was consistant with 12.034 ETs

At the time there were a hundred new Duster 340, GTO Judges, and AMC Javelins and AMXs running around Tacoma Washington. My little Falcon would smoke all the the richest of them.

The rich kids were cheating because a new company in the Puget Sound area was offering a novel kit stolen from WWII airplane technology.

Any one rememeber what that new technology was?

Still my 65 Mustang 2+2. 69 Boss 302 motor, 4-gear, 3.89 posi 9-inch rear. Second resto coming spring 05. Owned it for twenty years almost. It still makes me nervous driving it with that old truck steering wheel and slow -a$$ steering box.

Well.....actually the FASTEST car I own/owned is my '64 Galaxie WAGON!! :-X22 It's gone 11.37 @120 mph. Not a bad grocery getter :-X10
It's powered by a 428, edelbrock heads, tunnelwedge 2x4, Doug Nash 5 spd. By no means a lightweight at 3920 lbs WITHOUT me. It is my drag car, so it's not to streetable, but still very stock looking.

Second is my '64 Galaxie Fastback with a blown 390, 4 spd.
Third is my '69 F100 with a 428CJ motor, med riser 2x4, 4 spd. It goes 13.4's @100 mph.

I suppose if I could combine them all to ONE vehicle it would really fly... ;)

Mine was my old '77 T-Bird. Kinda took off like a turtle but once you got all 400 cubes warmed up and pumping, that bird would fly.

I used to race people all the time, but I made them start at 60 mph.

I got clocked doing 130 in that thing :-wow ...good thing I knew the patrolman...he knocked it down for me but still ended up costing me $300+.

Would that be a centrifugal supercharger?

Anyway, my fastest Ford would be my 92 5.0. Short bursts only though, no longer than about 2 or 3 minutes.
For longer (6 hours at a time) runs, would be my 02 Ranger. I'm sure my Mustang would have been okay for all day high speed driving, but I didn't have it long enough to take it on a road trip.

Fastest and wildest I had was a 79 Mustang refitted with a 351W, it was stock but it had plenty of go power once the tires grabbed...

the fastest yet??? 1997 F-250 HD. Powerstroke diesel. fastest clocked time 120 but i think it will do more!!!
