Stolen Trailer and construction tools

Hi guys. I had a 6' x 12' enclosed trailer stolen from the parking lot of my veterinary clinic right on HWY 169 on the south end of Princeton, MN last weekend (August 22nd). It is Gray (or was gray,) only a couple of years old and full of all of our construction tools that we used to build this place. It was locked up with a good lock on the hitch coupler, the building lot is well lit and the SOB's pulled up and took it anyway.
The wiring harness for the lights has had some repair work done to it (I had to reattatch it after my friend's dog chewed it off last winter) and every color wire has about 12 inches of white wire spliced into it just behind the harness.
The vehicle that backed up to it had two different tires in the rear. The tread pattern was similar, but noticeably a little different and one tire had a good bit more tread remaining than the other one.
I know quite a few of you live within an hour of here so if you see anything like that that shows up at a job site or is sitting in the woods as a meth lab, please e-mail me or call me at Northwoods Animal Hospital in Princeton.
Thanks.

IT is so sad why people have to steal things. I really hate thieves. I prey they die before they feel my rage! I am in St. Cloud an will keep an eye open. I caught a guy in my garage one night a few years ago, I took a piece of 1 1/4 pipe 4 feet long and hit him across the back. I dont think he will break in to buildings anymore. The cop asked me what happened, I said he must of fell when I was chasing him, Who are they going to believe!

Oh, man- my condolences! Their is nothing worse than a thief who steals your tools, 'cuz not only is he stealing your property he is also stealing your livelihood.

I'm in Maple Grove, and I'll keep an eye peeled for you.

Hey, would you have any pix of the trailer? Sure would help with the ID....

Good Luck!

Jim

i have been heading up 169 lately past milaca, i will keep a eye out on the back dirt roads. a lot of hillbillies live out in the woods still, and many of the ones with no morals or electricity rob n steal for a living or beer. my father has too much stuff broken or ripped off because of it.
a trailer that size they probaly moved 4-5 people into.

I will keep an eye on it here in MG. Subcool, where in MG are you? I am just curous

Me? I'm just North of Osseo, roughly 99th & Jefferson. We looked at a few places around Weaver Lake when we bought our place in '93, but the taxes were a little high so we ended up in a more "affordable" part of town.

Grew up in the Plymouth/Mtka area, close to Ridgedale.

Another In Maple Grove

Another Maple Grove here, Eagle Lake area.

Eagle Lake? My brother (& sister)-in-law live on Eagle Lake. Extreme south side, large brown place, double-width lot. Nice lake for Muskie fishing! Close, too!

'77, eh? One of the "real" F150's w/ the metal dash? Nice! Too bad they had to mess with it in '80 as I really liked that look. There's a guy up here in Osseo w/a Canary Yellow '67/'68/'69 F150. Sounds terrible, I know, but it's really pretty cool in person. Wish I could talk him out of it as my first vehicle as a kid was a '68 F250.....

sorry to hear that, its really rotten when some druggy steals.

Its ALWAYS Drugs namely Meth that causes these skinny cracked out kids to go around looking to steal 10 Grand worth of someones prized possesions just for a couple days of getting high. I live out by Rush City & Im always watching my ***** because I see those dirtball types prowling around scopeing out places going down the road slowly looking around.

My Cousin was one of those meth heads that would steal Construction equipment & pawn it off, Well he is serving 1.5 years in Fairbault prison. This kid is a real piece of work. I was hoping that he would get beat down in prison & maybe drop some soap for bubba. But the sad truth is that he gets a private room (cell) with a TV with Cable. Good Meals & plays softball & basketball. He stole almost 100 Grand worth of peoples stuff & this is what happens to him, he gets to sit around & watch premium TV Channels & participate in a sports league. maybe some day when he goes back to prison they will send him to a more serious place. Basically Prison for young drug addicts is a vacation resort. Its screwed!

Buckarcher,

Sorry to hear about your trailer and tools...I guess I should feel more fortunate that they ONLY cleaned out my 7X14 trailer loaded with DeWalt tools and left the trailer behind.

I am now feeling less secure with my coupler lock and may need to upgrade it. Do you think they somehow removed the lock or used a chain to latch on to the trailer and towed it away?

Sorry again...

Buckarcher 09-28-2004 12:48 PM

Compwise, I am not sure what they did, the lock was not laying on the ground broken so I don't know if they took the pieces with them or if they just twisted the chains short and hung the tongue from them. There is a good thread in the towing/hauling forum on different ways people lock up their trailers to keep them secure, check it out.
