Long history with Ford Trucks
I found these pictures in an old scrapbook the other day, thought I'd share 'em with y'all. That's my Dad and his work truck, about 1960. As you can see, my family's history with Ford trucks goes back a ways. Dad used to be a sign painter. When I started racing, he lettered my race cars. -TD

that truck is cool. I wish i had an old semi restored truck.
Thanks. I wonder where, or if, that truck is now....
Great pics!! Something like that would go great in a magazine. Looks to me like it's a '56 F-100.
I don't know the year for sure, I was guessing at '55, but if you look at the wheels, they're 8-lug, so it should be a 3/4 ton...F-250? Were they using that nomenclature back then? -TD
It is a 56. Notice how the roof sticks out over the windshield? A 55 does not do that. ;)
Back then that truck would have been fairly new only 4 years old.
So, how come no one commented on what a handsome fellow my dad is? (Or was, he's old and fat now...like father, like son!) -TD
Tell him that he is. :)
Is what? Handsome, or old and fat? -TD
Tell him that he is still handsome.
Well, we can't have him getting a swelled head, but I'll try...My, we've gotten off-topic here. Oh well, it's my thread, I can do anything I want with it, right? Within reason! So, we've established that the truck is a '56, and I think it's a 3/4 ton, were they called F-250s in '56, or did that come later? And when did the name F-100 come into use? -TD
