2005 F-250

My 99 F-250 was idleing really rough this morning so I took it to the local Ford dealer that I go to. When I was there was a 05 F250 sitting there so I desided to take it for a spin. I took it for a 5 mile drive and what I found was that the turning raidis was much better then the older ones. Now this truck had the 5.4 3 valves per cl. I did not find that it had much more power then the older ones. The ride has improved a little with the new style front ends. But I think if you do any plowing with this truck I see new springs in the future. They looked to be weak in my book. The in side is nice with the redesigned dash. Is easer to see the instruments. Would I buy one the answer to that is yes.:-X25

I'm sure Ford knows people put plows on these trucks, so that had to have been taken into consideration on the springs. I don't know what to say about the newer 5.4, never driven one....only a 5.4L supercharged lightning :)

They look pretty cheap to me. We will find out in the spring how the new owners like them. The new 5.4 does have more power. But not a lot. That is just my opinion. I can tell you this though when I plowed with my 89' F-150 my front coils went to hell all the time. I hated that. But I did find a spring company that made real heavy duty ones then it wasent to bad.

My oldest son used to sell Fords. He advised me to do NO plowing with less than an F250. You guys with personal experience may have different opinions, but that was his advice.

Was this at Rountree? I went by there today and glanced over as I went by to see if there were any 05's, but I did not see any from where I was. I'll have to go through the lot next time I go by and see what they have.
