240 engine desperately needed
 

Help!!I have a 61 Van that is dead slow!!!Is there anyone out there who know where I can find a 240 to swap into it? Please help!!!

thats a lot of work there bud. just as easy to do a v 8 swap as it is to put a big 6 in one of the older vans. lots of stuff has to be changed, including part of the floor for clearance. you dont have to do that to swap in a v 8!

if you just have to do it, you are gonna need a 65-67 that came with the big 6 for parts. do lotsa cutting and welding cause nothing from the little 6 will work on the big 6.

If your not going V-8 why not atleast put a 300 in it same block as the 240.

I agree with flaresides, the 300 is ALOT easier to find, has alot more power, and is a direct swap.

I got a 240 in a shipping crate, but it is in North Carolina. I think you are in Canada, shipping would cost more than the engine is worth.
