Identify my truck - you never know.

Gents,

Maybe I'm dreaming but maybe I'll get lucky. I want find out what has been done to the motor in this truck by a previous owner.

Last year I bought a 1978 two tone brown/beige F250 2wd that was in the parking lot of one of the gas stations in Strathmore. (June-July). The truck was owned by an old carpenter who owned it for 3-4 years...prior to that it was in Calgary.

The previous owner used this truck to haul his drag car to the races (narrowing down possible owners) and had installed firestone airbags, a factory ford cap, and trailer brakes and a sun visor. The spring hanger had obviously let go on one of the trips to the track and made a hole in the bed. I'll bet his race car was a ford with a 460 as well based on the next paragraph.

The truck had a 460 in it with a D0VE-A block, D3VE-A2A heads, rusty old headers with working air conditioning and a C6 with a shift kit. The motor had been rebuilt prior to the carpenter getting it. The truck had obviously been rebuilt by someone who new their ford trucks after looking at some of the wiring during the body swap.

I don't have a link online to a photo of it yet as our website DNS is down (www.nova4x4.com) but I will shortly.

I'm about to swap the motor into my 794x4/78F250 body.

Cheers,

Daren

PS: Mil1ion, I know we emailed back and forth about the body swap last year and I appreciated your help. Thanks again.

This thread would be better served in the re-building or 460 engine forum.

So far the heads are less then desirable.

Sure, doesn't matter to me. I was just hoping to possibly find someone who knew the truck or owner.
