Wrist Pin removal
Does anyone know the proper procedure for pressing the wrist pin on a 1997 4.2 :-huh
|
Two choices;
1) Have them pressed in at about $5-8 dollars a piston,or 2)Use a torch to heat the pins and install them yourself :-X22 |
dont heat, there is a large probablility that the piston or rod will be damaged
|
The reason I said heat as another option is thats one way I use to do it,if a press were not available.But,a press is the correct way of removing and installing the pins. :-X22
BTW,ive never damaged a piston,rod,or pin by using heat. ;) |
