I believe it is 36mm

PSD6litre40 07-30-2004 11:21 AM

1 3/8 is the size of the fuel filter cap under the truck, I believe I used the same socket on my last oil change, not sure though...........

BTW, 33mm is the METRIC Equivelant to a 1 3/8 so its is the same socket size as the oil filter if I am corect.............

Tim, Thanks for the welcome. I've read the "Read Before Posting Here" guidelines. Is this the guidelines you are referring too?

I've been a member of FTE since April 2004 and learned a lot from everyone here regarding the superduty and 6.0 PSD. A lot of knowledgable foks here! In fact I ordered one in April (Lariat/CC/4x4/6.0L) and took delivery in May. Love the truck!

So is mine with 36MM metric.

Thanks for the responses - I knew 36mm was the size of the fuel filter....I was hoping Ford made the oil one the same - glad to see they did. Couldn't seem to find it anywhere in the manual tho.

doesnt the fuel filter also have a 3/8 ratchet hole thing?

Blackie60 07-30-2004 06:55 PM

Nope only 1/2 inch drive for the top engine fuel filter. 36MM under driver side frame.

See my instructions at http://home.austin.rr.com/sbv1/Proce...gEngineOil.htm It is a 36mm socket. Don't overtighten. 18 ft/lbs is specified.

I use 12 inch polish socket set, works great.
