Explorer with leak in head gasket, anyone ever use K&W block seal?

My 1991 Explorer has been losing antifreeze for quite some time. It was a fairly slow leak and the third time I had it pressure tested they discovered a leaking head gasket. The good news is it isn't leaking into the cylinder but out the back of the head. Since the engine has 220k on it I don't think it's worthwhile to have it torn down to replace the gasket. If I have the heads redone I'm sure the rings will go. Has anyone out there ever used K&W block seal? Did it work for you or cause problems? According to the directions the system needs to have just water in it, run for 20 minutes with the block seal, drained and allowed to sit for 24 hours. Then flush with water and fill with anitfreeze. The radiator and heater core are both less than a year old. The only ingredient listed is in the warning label which say's that it contains Sodium Silicates. I don't plan on getting rid of the truck as it still looks and runs good. Thanks in advance to all who reply.

If you're planning on keeping the truck and you've got the time, go ahead and replace the head gaskets. Just read and follow the label directions! Don't re-use the old head bolts! It won't cause the rings to go bad! If you just need to do a temporary fix to get you by for a while, the K&W block seal is a good product. It could hold you over for a pretty good while, but you have to "read and follow the label directions" or it won't work. Then, when you get a chance, go ahead and change the gaskets. It can be done with the engine in the truck. The felpro gasket"set" will come with all the gaskets you need.Good luck
