Spark plug wire clips
I'm changing out the plug wires on my '99 Mountaineer (V8), and I'm having a heck of a time unclipping the wires. Is there any easy way to do this? I can't even get to the clips on the #4 wire. What a pain.

I had that same problem and then I looked inside my front wheel wells. There is a plastic cover on each side of the vehicle that protects the engine from the stuff that you run over. This cover is held on with plastic clips, like those that attach your door trim to the door. Once you pull on them (hard if you have to, I haven't broken or ripped anything yet) and take off the cover, the #3 and #4 plugs are right in front of you and so much easier to reach. This is the same on the driver's side for plugs 5, 6, 7, and 8. I hope this helps you.

I have a hint for plug installation....put an old rubber plug boot on the new spark plug. It will make the job a lot easier! It will be so much better to start the threads.
