351 to 460 swappage
 

i have a 78 f150 with a 351m and a c6 auto. im pretty sure the engine is messed up because when its on i hear a loud knocking from inside. it gets louder the higher the rpm's are. i dont know exactly what it is but i heard that it could be a broken rod. Also the transmission needs work too. My plan is to take them both out and replace them with a better c6 and a good 460 engine. Now how easy is the swap from the 351 to the 460? Ive heard that it will go right and just needs new mounts. Also i need to know what are some good places to look for a decent trans and engine. I definately dont want to pay for a new one and fixing mine will probably be too expensive so i need some suggestions on where to get a good deal and what to look for as far as a quality used engine and trans. thank you any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Engine perches and exhaust will need to be changed. Best way to do it is to find a good running donor truck (maybe wrecked) and swap everything you need.
