Back-up lights - '79 F250/400/4spd

:-huh Can anyone fill me in on where the back-up light switch is ? I assume it somewhere on the transmission under and inch or so of grime, but approximately where ? Also, what does the associated connector look like ? I found a single wire connector near the forward fuel tank that appears to fit on a post, but doesn't reach forward enough to be the back-up light wiring. When I popped the light fixtures out, I found there weren't even sockets in the lens for back-up lights, tho there were two wires taped off on each side. Brake lights, turn signals, and hazards all seem to function normally.

Thanks !!

On my 4 sp np 435 trans, it is located at the base of the shifter where it enters the top of the trans. It should be a two wire cable that bolts via a wire clip, to the top drivers side of the bellhousing and heads upward toward the master cylinder. Mine has a two pin receptacle hanging down out of a wiring harness under the MC, to which the 2- 1/4 inch straight blade conectors from the BU sw. plugged it to.

It's in roughly the same place on my T-18. The electrical connections sound identical.
