7 lug to 6 or 5 lug adapter?
 

I have a 2004 f150 with the 7 lug steel rims (heavy to package). I can’t find any cool rims that are 20” or bigger. Are their any adapters that would change my 7 lug to 6 or 5? Can it be done? Or has anyone seen 20"+ rims for tha 7 lug pattern?

I was looking for "7 lug" in the search function and noticed you've started a couple of threads on this subject, but with no replies. I'm in the same boat as you - the aluminum Welds and Eagles just won't cut it for me. I've looked around for 22's that might fit this pattern, and of course, I've found nothing. I think the problem is that most people (myself included) opt for this package to use as a less expensive (especially insurance wise) alternative to a superduty. Of course, just because its a workhorse doesn't mean people don't want the ability to customize, hence the wide selection of 22"+ eight lug superduty rims available. But then again, the superduty is an entire line of trucks, not just a somewhat obscure package offered within a line of trucks. Because of that, I don't think the aftermarket will ever address this issue as you and I, and probably a few others, would like to see it addressed. It simply would not be profitable to do so.
So, after ruling out the whole adapter concept (just seems like a mickey mouse solution, especially considering the hub-centric issue) I've determined the only way to solve this dilemna is to get some blanks drilled. Two links that I've found (you may have to cut and paste):

The site says its an additional $50.00 per wheel for custom drilling, which isn't all that bad in my view. I'm sure there are other manufacturers out there that do this. I think I may have even read a thread that said Discount Tire carries blanks for all of its rims, though I haven't checked it out.

This is probably the method I will end up pursuing. My friend has an 04 supercrew lariat, so he was easily able to find 22's for his truck, and I must say it completes the look beautifully. He jabs me a lot about my "grandpa's wheels", and quite frankly he's got a point. Hope this helps.

The only other manufacturer they carry (that I've found so far) besides Giovanna that offers blanks is Cabo. Just click "Cabo" at the bottom of the page and read the description. There may be others, too, but it takes a really long time to look through them all, so I'm not sure. If I had my choice, though, I'd get a set of those blackface Absolute's on the home page - not your everyday run of the mill chrome that EVERYBODY has. Too bad blanks aren't offered, on those. Maybe if I wait a little longer...
