Radio Question - Clock works but no sound!

I have a radio ghost in my 1999 f350 TD Super Duty. When I start the truck, the radio comes on but then I hear a click by the headlight / dimmer switch and the radio then shuts off. However, the clock does stay on at all times but only if the headlight switch is turned on.

I gave the headlight / dimmer switch a good smack and the radio came back on, but now (a few days later), only the clock works :'( The unit has power because the clock works and the CD will eject, but no radio stations or CD tracks will play, only the clock (when the headlight switch is on). Any suggestions?

Thanks

Paul

check your wiring sounds like you got a shrot somewhere...... And it may have intern fried your unit but check for loose wires etc.. If still no luck look into replacing the unit .

Radio just came back on but went off about five minutes later. All fuses are good but there was that 'click' sound that came from the headlight on/off switch prior to it.

sounds like lose wiring or bad wiring one or the other..... Trace you wires out i bet you find the problem.

try tapping on the some of the fuses because the same thing happened to mine a while back. if that doesn't work, un plug the battery for about 5-10 minutesand turn the key on while it is unplugged to drain the juice out the re-plug and turn on this is what i did and it has worked ever since... who knows what it really was. it could also be coming from the headlight relay...does this sound right? it should be one of the round metal fuses and just unplug it and plug it in tap on it and go.
