4.5L V6 Powerstroke

HAs any one attempted to install one of these baby powerstrokes into a F150? I had read that Ford was testing this engine in the F-150 and Expedition a couple of years ago. I would like to put one in my 99F-150 , they are rated around 230HP and 300LBFT torque.

This engine is brand spakin new. It came out in the summer/fall last year. It was made to be put in the f-150 but ford backed out becuase they werent sure of the capabilitys. My guess from what i have read it will be in the F-150 in 5 to 10 years. Its not avaliable yet to buy. It puts out 200hp and 440ft-lbs of tourque. This engine however will be avalible in the new ford lcf. This is the specs on the LCF
Engineered and produced in North America, the new Ford LCF is designed for use in highly populated urban areas, where more and more customers are turning to tilt cabs for their general delivery, utility, recovery, leasing and rental, construction, landscaping and other vocational applications.

It’s built for customers who appreciate the tilt cab design advantages over conventional cabs—visibility, maneuverability, operating ease, overall efficiency and basic economics.

U.S. industry-standard 34" frame width and optional axle-to-frame (AF) dimensions help make upfitting easier and more cost-efficient.

Power and Performance

The Ford LCF will have plenty of horsepower (200) and torque (440 lbs.-ft.) to haul the heavy loads, climb intra-city hills, or merge onto freeways safely. Power and frame, suspension, and brake designs all contribute to a robust, Built-Ford-Tough chassis that delivers excellent maneuverability, braking and brake wear, and ride and handling.

Thanks for the reply, from some friends of mine that work for International they say this engine has been around for a while already. Maybe Int. did some changes? I am tired of paying the high price and low MPG of gas but do not need a larger truck. Some people have also sugested installing a four cyl. Diesel from Cummins. They can be had with up to 200HP and 325 lbs torque. This would be plenty of power and the fuel economy should be high?
