Meeting lift law

I was wondering if in ohio if you lift a truck higher than the law specifies (most 1/2 to 1 ton trucks can be 27 to 30 inches up) if you can make drop bumpers (like what tou see on semi trailers) front and rear and stay legal. The reason im asking is that im buying a 75 f-250 high boy for my next project and I want to put it on 40 to 44's and not be geting tickets like crazy.:-X09

Pretty sure that is what you have to do.

Hope fully that will fly. Ill make nice stirdy ones and atcach them to the frame with tractor hich pins (3/4" thick) so I can take them off easily to go play off road

I remember back in the late 80's when the bumper law came around and all the big lifted trucks in town started to disappear.

I never did understand the real law, cause there was so many interpretations. Bottom of bumper or bottom of FRAME. I had heard both versions and I think it will depend on the cop.

I think with the most absence of lifted trucks anymore I dont think they look to hard, but you never know.

I know we talked about our locations in the ohio roster post I work at west end hardware part time (only 8 hours a week right now because im still in school). What sucks is that the f-250 i was buying ended up falling through so Ill have to find another one. But I need to finish the beast first. The cab is nearly ready for color.
