4.6 Ranger

Why dose ford not put a 4.6-V8 in a ranger??? I mean 230-HP 293-lbs of torq my not sound like much to a fullsize but in a compact itd be not only able to tow like a sun of a gun it would hit 60mph in about the early 7-seconds it all sounds good so why not give it a try?

I wish they would, they put them in Explorers. Shouldn't be to much of a stretch to put one in a Ranger. I definately would want one. I would think the gas mileage would be similiar to the 4.0 v6.

There was rumors of ford making one floating around a year or so ago. Source: Car and Driver.

Not sure, but I have heard there isn't room for it underhood. That's why the Explorers kept the 5.0 for so long, the 4.6 takes up a lot more space. But yeah, it would be friggin awesome as hell.

SVT built a Ranger last year with a 380hp Lightning drivetrain in it.
Talk about traction limited!!!!
