F250 max tire size - no lift

I was wondering what size tire you guys are running without lifts?

Also, I have stock steel rims.
Does anyone know how wide they are and how wide of a tire they will hold?

Thanks,
Merk

I had 265/75r16's on my truck and they fit great. I now have 285/75r16's with an add-a leaf in front. I had to trim the bumper a little so they didn't hit when four wheeling. I think they would fit on a stock truck with a little bumper triming, or pacing it further forward. the stock wheels should be 7" wide. Hope this helps some.

Do you think it would be ok to put 285/75/16 wheels on the 7" rims?
And if I wasn't going to take it off road, do you think it would be unsafe without bumper mods or a lift?

i would think so i run 315/75/16 on and 7.5 or 8 can't remember, they don't pull the tread apart as much as a 9 or a 10 so if that don't bother you, you'll be fine.

My 285's are on 7" wide rims and they are fine. I would't want to go to a wider tire on them though. You might be ok if you don't take your truck off-road. If they hit though the mods are easy and cheap.

hey kevin where did you get your front AAL at? I have been lookin around for something to level out the front of my truck forever and can't find anything. i'm just gonna do what you did and throw some 285s on there, its my DD/tow rig for my jeep so i'mi just tryin to get a little bit of height under there. thanks man!

I ran 35" tires on my 91 f250 for 2 years with no lift just spaced out the front bumper about 2". Never had any problems until I bent the front bumper a little. I know that JC Whitney sells front add-a-leafs for about $85 or so.

My AAL is a Tuff Country set, I got it for around $100 from Les Schwab tires.
