Smoked me a new cummins today.
I own a 1997 F-250 XL HeavyDuty 2wd PSD 5 speed and some guy who thinks hes a hot shot pulls up to me in a brand new dodge 2004 2500 4x4 regular cab 5.9 cummins auto, pulls up to me and takes 1 look at my truck and laughs then he guns it. Well i said screw him and just kept driving. I pulled up to him agian down the road and he did the same thing but this time i porked it show him what this psd had and flew by him. He tried did to get by but could not keep up so i was givin him the finger and laughin cause he could not catch up with truck that should be out of this leauge in power terms. So I pull in the local wendeys to grab lunch and behold he pulls in asks if i had a banks kit or some kind of chip in my truck i said no and said it is amazaing how 325 hp and 600 lb-fts of tourque can catch up on you.:-X24. He leaves ****ed and was mad how his ALMIGHTY CUMMINS Couldnt HANDLE a lower class psd. :D
So if a new 5.9 cant beat the first 7.3Lpsd hows it gonna beat a 6.0L. Josh :-X06 1997 F-250 XL HeavyDuty 2wd PSD 5 speed |
his ALMIGHTY CUMMINS HANDLED to a lower class psd.

I like that saying but i wanted to show him all the hype about the cummins is nothing. Anway I hate the cummins and plus i wanted to see what that new cummins can do. It shows me the hype and power is nothing in that truck. Josh 1997 F-250 XL HeavyDuty 2wd PSD 5 speed manual |
I'm calling B.S. I think you would agree that the new 6.0 easily outperforms the 7.3, and in the following article, the new cummins handily outperforms the 6.0.
an excerpt: But the proof is in the performance testing. In my prior Dodge Diesel test (235 hp California engine), the Quad Cab dually was only able to run 0-60 in about 11 seconds. Forget all that. The new diesel (test vehicle was a Quad Cab short bed 4X4) ran 0-60 in a class-leading 8.03 seconds. Even with its limited slip rear axle and some turbo lag, it would could still light up the rear tires, especially when nailing the throttle after exiting a tight corner. Who said diesels aren't a blast to drive. Passing tests demonstrated the ability to run from 50-70 mph in about five seconds and accelerate from 50-70 mph up a steep grade in eight seconds. But the real test came when pulling a 13,000-pound gooseneck trailer up that same steep grade. The article: http://www.mtdemocrat.com/articles/2...at/x1501_a.txt |
It could seem far fetched but it happened. My truck is fast with the 3.73 gears and 5 speed manual it flies with the 7.3 in it. Manny people call the 7.3Lpsd with 5 speed manual speedys. Mine can go 0-60 in about 8 seconds timed it myself.

I guess anything is possible!;)

i just bought that tranny for a 97 w/ 150k on it, $1630 it costs, the non dual mass flywheel/clutch kit will cost another $400
Bellhousing on this particular 4x4 F-250 has been welded twice, the now bent input shaft makes it impossible for it to hold oil, the oily clutch doesnt help matters :D Trucks go good tho, they all get hammed to death here Also ordered a Gm 6.5 TD $3000 to the dock, gota a 3500HD down with a crank broke in 2 spots, nice cast crank GM  |
