I put new rings in my 2.3 liter engine, now i have a problem of sut like substance coming out of the tail pipe, also losing oil, I have to put approxiamately 2 liters of oil a week in. Can someone help me

Who installed the rings? Do you notice and smoke coming out the exhaust? It sounds like your burning oil which would be why you've got soot coming out of tail pipe and why your losing oil? Pull out the dipstick and smell the oil, does it smell like gas?

1999 F-250 Superduty 4X4 7.3L Diesel
My problem is that I can be driving my truck and then the engine just dies and the I can't start it again. But, if I let it sit a little while. It will start and run again. I have gotten it check for codes and there is no codes present. I have changed the fuel filter and check the fuel pressure and pump. All good, but still have this problem!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!

It definetely sounds like a problem with your new rings. Do a compression check and that should give you some clues as to whether its a ring related problem or not.

did you hone the cylinders???
what type of rings did you install? crome-moly?
align the end gaps properly?
install the rings right side up?
check your end gap? what was it?
