How do you like your 0-60?

How do you like mine?

I am still undecided on how I like this video. Its of my truck, internal on the speedo. From a stop, I rolled into 1st and slammed through the gears as best I could while making sure I didnt drop the camera. Takes a lil load, but is kinda cool...Any feedback?

Your truck is a extended/super cab isn't it? That's pretty good for such a heavy truck. If you ran like that in Houston, you'd be in the 16's.

horizonhuskies 02-09-2004 12:13 AM

Thanks Joe...It is a supercab...You cant hear my start, but it is kinda crappy....hehe...Im glad you alkl had fun :)

Whats the policy on posting links to the "other v6" website. I was able to get the file down to 4 or 6 megs vice the 26 where it is now. I would like others to view it, Id like the feedback. So if its ok, Id like to post the link. If not...anyone wanting to not wait for the download, email me and I can shoot ya the link.

Let me check...
Thanks.

true4.2 02-10-2004 09:20 AM

Yea, he still has cats. He's running JBA Headers with a full Gibson cat. (reason for the throatiness!) :D

horizonhuskies 02-10-2004 11:36 AM

OH.....the throatyness....its because of the gibson catback, that and im one bad mutha...hush yo mouth! hehe...Naw, its the exhaust and intake you hear the most. Headers dont hurt any....I would like to see if I can hit my goal of 15.3 with my setup :)

Garrett

true4.2 02-10-2004 11:44 AM

I'd say with your setup you'll hit (and I'm not professional by any means) a mid to low 16 with a good enough start.

horizonhuskies 02-10-2004 11:50 AM

Oh man, Im a retard that just cant type....Lots going on...graduated a class today...still in my Bravo uniform.

I wanna hit 15.9. Maybe after the eaton locker and other stuff, I can get a nice start and hit it.

Garrett

true4.2 02-10-2004 02:30 PM

Yea, a 15.9 is more possible with a few more mods. That's my problem, I need more power! If I do anything else to my truck as far as mods go it will start with MAC headers, 4.10's, and limited slip.

dalonso 02-11-2004 02:23 PM

without a chip, do you have a rev limiter on a manual tranny? i saw garrett's truck rev well beyond 4000 rpm with ease. i have trouble reving it up to 4000.

horizonhuskies 02-11-2004 07:08 PM

Yes you do. The thing is, I never got past 3rd gear :) That limiter will kick in in 4th @ 98mph (for me) or 5th at 98mph, or 3800 RPMs I think.

Once my truck is chipped correctly, I will be hauling somethin fierce.

Joe, have you considered a supercharger? LoL. Just kidding man. I think the 4.10's alone would give you some nice acceleration, and the limited slip will cut down on that 60' time. Lemme know how it goes...my eaton posi should be on the way, I will take some pics of the install.

jbo2121 02-11-2004 11:08 PM

i know i'm slow, but anyone got a clue what my 60 time is? my truck is a 2003 auto supercab w/mac intake and magnaflow exhaust.

true4.2 02-12-2004 09:04 AM

The speed limiter without a chip on our trucks comes on at 96 - 97 mph. The rev limiter will come on at about 5500 RPM's. It is a fact that the best shift point for our trucks is at 4800 to 5000 RPM's. That is where our trucks power peaks when you are flooring it. It slowly looses power beyond that point.

jbo: You are probably at a 9 to 10 second 0 - 60 time which is decent for such a big truck.
