mini spool?

Getting ready to regear, what do you guys think of putting a mini spool in the 8.8? My bronco is going to be used mainly for street driving for the next month or two, until I can get my other vehicles out of storage. After that, it won't see much pavement until the next winter.

If I had more money to throw at it, I would think about an air locker or something of that nature, but as of right now the price of a spool seems alot more attractive.

BTW-- I am going with 4.10s and 33's, if that makes a difference.

Thanks for any replies

I have a full spool in my bronco i wouldn't go with a mini spool because they aint as strong also go with c-clip eliminators so you have a safety hub incase the axel brakes also you stated that it will be mostly street driven you will go through tires about every 6 months because there is no slipping my bronco is rarely street driven. also a spool can be very dangerous on ice cause if both tires loose traction at the same time you will loose control of the vehicle also every time you turn you will leave skid marks and get wierd steers from people but they do kick butt in the mud and sand

Thanks for the reply. Yeah I was kinda thinking the same thing, but wasn't sure. Do you know of any other low cost solutions for traction, other than the "lincoln locker"? I'm just tired of two open diffs.

I think that maybe this weekend, I'll hit up the local yards to see if I can find an l/s. Any ideas on what to look for?
