new fords

well today on tv i seen a test on the 5 most popular trucks. and the truck that was voted the best was a not the ford but a neisan .they said the ford was way to heavy and underpowered because it weight was 6000 lbs and only had a zero to60 time of 9.3 compaired to a 7.4 do you thing ford will do any thing to increase the horse power ... to compete against the compation sorry to say that show on spike tv didnt do the new f150 any good . mabe some one at ford will see the comparison and do some thing aboult the lack of horse power .mind you the chevy came in last ..a lightning engine in a f150 would do the trick ...

There is a lightning (500+hp) slated for 2005 or 2006.

SPIKE TV???

LOL.......sorry dude, but Spike TV would ALSO say the following:

My Girlfriend is too committed and dedicated to me, for their liking.
Can't tow enough with my car.
My jetskiis don't sit 3 people each, therefore are too small.
I'm a nice guy and I'll never get ahead.
Their programming is better than ESPN.
George Bush hasn't done a good job as President.
Brittany Spears has (singing) talent.
The guy on American Idol that sang "She Bangs" shouldda made it to the finals.

LOL

I could go on, but WHO CARES what Spike TV thinks?
This is an old and common argument, and we SHAN'T compare RACING times in trucks to validify its ability to perform as a truck.

*sigh*

Well the new F150 isn't advertised as a 1/4 mile racer. It's advertised as a Truck. More weight means smoother over the bumps, and as far as 1/4 slap on a 4000lb trailer and do the same race. IF it's 1/4 mile then the lightning will spank any other truck competing. Interesting about this 2005 500HP lightning. That would be awesome.

The show was motor trend television, it is the same test that was in the latest magazine. It did have the nissan winning by a landslide, but if you ask me, they stacked the odds in favor of the nissan. They rated each truck in various categories, and most were a matter of opinion (i.e. styling). The nissan was also much cheaper, and price was weighted heavily in the score. I agree that the F150 does need to go on a diet and gain some HP. It was the slowest, and tied for last place in fuel mileage. The competition is getting very tight!

Actaully it was Car And Driver. It was the Ford's performance that held it back. Other than being overweight they had very good thingsg to say about it, especially the overall build quality. It did beat the Hemi powered Ram by 1 point which says that if Ford could givce this thing a bit more get up, even if it was just a midpack performer, it would have been very close to the Nissan. The F150 tested was almost 400 lbs heavier than the next heaviest, the Ram and had close to 900 lbs on the Tundra.

okay.......
that's a bit more valid than Spike TV, but it wasn't MT, for sure.
Car and driver, i.e. CAR & something. No wonder acceleration is so important to them.
I don't ask my grandma how to play football.

:D

Car and driver TV hate domestics and seems to hate Ford even more. they're all bout the imports and luxury cars...who cares if a truck can accelerate in so many seconds...its a truck for god sakes.
