What will happen to Janklow?

What are your thoughts on what will happen to Janklow now that he was convicted?

I bet he won't get any jail time, just a bunch of fines and communty service.

Matts72 01-08-2004 04:26 PM

who is janklow?

mtflat 01-08-2004 04:31 PM

The SD senator(?) that hit and killed the cycle rider. Sure is a sad event for all concerned.

Matts72 01-08-2004 04:34 PM

guess I don't pay enough attention.

Our Governator, Martz, tampered with evidence and interceded an investigation. She is still in office, I suspect that there won't be any jail time for this guy.

I'll try to dig up more and post it.

You can find hundreds of articles by just searching "Bill Janklow" at www.rapidcityjournal.com.

Thats insane.

I run stop signs too, at like 4 in the morning when there isn't any traffic, but I slow down.

superrangerman2002 01-08-2004 06:01 PM

Actually he was in the House of Represenatives.

Jeez... just goes to show you that even the elected high and mighty can be absolutely WRONG sometimes...

What I would like to see...10 years flat time.

What he will get... a suspend sentance, a slap on the wrist. If the family is ontop of it they should sue him. Assets of 8 mil.

superrangerman2002 01-23-2004 12:28 PM

Sounds like he got 100 days in the pen.

Whoopie.

As far as Janklow getting sued.....I'm not sure that I agree about that.

Matts72 01-23-2004 01:32 PM

Heard that on the news last night, I'm pretty peeved. :(

68torino 01-23-2004 02:31 PM

30days in the new county jail in a room by himself....Whoodahoooo. Sheeesh:-X01

superrangerman2002 01-27-2004 02:00 PM

My wifes uncle was involved in something similiar, but he was intoxicated pretty bad....He got a bit stiffer fine than Janklow, but not by much more than a month.

I heard that a bunch of out of state bikers were planning on boycotting the Sturgis rally this year, cause of Janklow.

I dont think that every one will ever be happy in this case, I'm just glad that he does have to do some jail time and community service.

Far as I concerned it just makes more room for me to park my bike at the rally.

68torino 02-05-2004 12:27 PM

And now he puts\keeps over $900,000 in his 'war' chest which is typically done if someone wants to run for another State office???? Jeeezzz:-X09
