Gangster cap`s

Does anyone have pictures in their gallery (or homepage) of a gangster cap for a 56`?
Just wondering what it looks like.
Were there any F-100`s with oem gangster cap?

PS: not really sure if this is the real name for it, but Gangster cap is a External sunvisor over the front window.

I never heard them called gangster or gangsta caps...maybe that's a generation X or Y thing, or maybe something peculiar to Norway. I also don't recall them as being OEM, only aftermarket. They look pretty cool if you are going the restored or restorod route. I don't recall seeing one on a 56 particularly, but have seen them on 48-52s. I'll look though my old magazines and see if I can come up with a picture.;)

IMHO, those things really give the truck a heavy, stodgy look. When I see one, I expect to see a 47-54 Chevy pickup underneath it.

To answer your questions, it will look bad, and I don't know if it was available OEM; I doubt it.

Fint å ha flere fra Norge . Bare spør-du får alltid svar

The first truck for sale on that link is a '54 with a visor. Never heard it called a gangster cap either.

I always thought of it as a sun viser, never heard it called a "Gangster Cap" tho I find the term quite comical

I agree it looks dorky, and have mainly seen them on the 5 window chev trucks

All of you who don`t like this type of visor are right.

...and nah it ain't no *@#$ gen-X thang, dawg! You straight got me trippin', boo! *****! :-D Man, I lived on the wrong side of town for too long! ...and now I'm in Kansas....

I think it's just a word used by the mexicanos...the low riders who put every JC Whitney accesory on their '39 Chevys! Although I can't help myself, I dig the real lowriders. But I digress....

I must tell you that I have seen nice models of gangster caps. A few years ago during Power meet in Västerås in Sweden I observed a very nice sun visor on a early fiftie Ford pickup. It was made like the swedish old Volvo duett sun visor. Blue double plexi fields with crome frame around and a center part in crome. But it was bigger than Duett models. I think it was a modified sun visor from a larger Volvo truck. It was the most classic and perfect design I ever have seen. Lycka till

There is one presently available on an ebay auction (2454083567) that is stated to be for 52-54 Ford car or truck. It is at $150 with three days remaining. I wouldn't put it on my truck.
