alcoa rims for f-250
Hi, I have a couple of questions, 1st what is the weight rating of the stock aluminum xlt rims for a psd. 2nd A friend recently gave me a set of alcoa aluminum rims 16x7 rated for 3042lbs, so I can mount a set of snow tires. these rims have the countersunk type lugs, can I use these on my truck? I own a 02 250 psd sc LB 4X4. Can I just buy new set of lug nuts?

Good rims. They should be made out of forged aluminum. They are quite sufficent as far as the load rating is concerned. these >rims have the countersunk type lugs, can I use these on my >truck? Now the bad news,I don't believe they have the same bolt pattrern.I personally wouldn't deviate from the original lug design that your truck uses. |

I don't think you can use the wheels on your truck. The SD's have 2 piece lug nuts and counter sunk wheels I think use 1 piece lug nuts. That aside, the SD wheels are Hubcentric, meaning load is placed on the wheel hub vs. Lugcentric where the load is taken by the lug nuts/axle studs. I could be wrong but if you go to the alcoa wheels website more info is available there. BTW, stock aluminum wheels from ford are manufactured by Alcoa.
