throttle body question

quick question? i was looking to buy the 70mm throttle body for my 2001 4.2l, 5 speed. the problem is that some websites specify the bbk #1552 and others #1652. i needed some info to see which one would fit. your knowledge is greatly appreciated

1652 is for 01 and newer, 1552 is previous years.

Hey guys, can you tell me what the advantage of haveing the 70 mm throttle body is??? like i said before, new at this and not sure what everything can do

horizonhuskies 01-09-2004 10:02 AM

I *think* the spacer would work, but not sure. If you are talking about the front valence, I got it at street scene for 135, including the light kit.

A larger TB allows more air. I dont know the exact size of the stock TB, but I know 70 is pretty big.

WOw, where can one buy a 70mm throttle body?

horizonhuskies 01-09-2004 10:09 AM

a lot of places...really anywhere that sells 3.8 mustang, or 4.2 parts. Go to google and type in 70mm throttle body BBK and you will find some. I think they run about 280? Might find it cheaper.

i just put on my 70mm tb and it runs great! the only problem i had was that the tb spacer did not work with it because the spacer does not let the flap open. so im bummed because i wasted money on the spacer that i can even use.

So send it back and get a refund. Can you?

Also dalonso:

Where did you get your 70mm tb? I'm pretty interested to know myself. Also, did it come with directions on installation? The only part that would confuse me is the throttle linkage that hooks up to the TB link. Thanks.

if had the spacer for a while, so i will just sell it on the side.
i order the tb from www.autokrafters.com it is a very simple bolt on, besides my spacer not fitting. the linkage is the same as the stock one. u just have to be carefull with the throttle body sensor because the screws come with that liquid lock from the factory

smarshall80 01-09-2004 06:04 PM

Hey dalonso what kind of spacer is it i want one and dont have one yet... mabey we could work something out!!!

smarshall80 01-09-2004 06:31 PM

horizonhuskies 01-09-2004 06:45 PM
