Work truck ladder rack with tonneau, any combos that work??

Hey everyone,

I have a 2022 Ford F250 super duty, crew cab with an 8 foot bed. I've been looking around for some ladder racks, as this is my work truck and I am a contractor, and I really like the System One contractor rig, but I absolutely need to have a tonneau cover that works with any racks I put on the truck. Can't park at Lowes with your tools in the back and expect them to be there when you get back otherwise lol. I very much prefer a soft roll up type tonneau because they're fast and get completely out of the way when rolled up. Does anyone have any experience with a cover that will work with these ladder racks? Or any combination of other work truck ladder racks that work with a tonneau?

I've looked at the Pace Edward's rack and tonneau combos, but they are very expensive and none of them are the soft rollup covers that I like that completely get out of the way when you roll them. Thanks in advance,

Mike

I was looking at a TruXedo rack/soft cover combo but ended up with the TruXedo MX15 Pro soft roll up. You might take a look at their site and see if it fits your needs.

Appreciate the response but I think I need something a little more heavy duty.

I went with TracRac (now Thule) and BAK X4S hard roll-up cover. Had the BAK X2 model hard roll-up on my 2017 as shown in the photo below, but it started deteriorating (vinyl cover shrunk), so I opted for the X4S model on my 2022. Transferred the TracRac from the 2017 to the 2022. BTW, the rack has a 1,250# capacity. One of my main reasons for buying this combo is I can slide the racks off the rear when not using them ... which is most of the time.

Thanks, the 1250# capacity would be great. Ideally I'd like a set of racks that extend over the cab, I need to transport boards up to 20' long sometimes. But your setup might be what I go with if I can't figure that out. Thanks again!

my buddy has a 23 f350 long bed. knapheide service body, and added a retractable bed cover to it. it's crazy slick. also color matched the service body.

Those are available for the Thule TracRac ladder racks. The longest I've hauled were 16' boards and I loaded them on edge and used a strap around the forward ends to keep 'em from flapping against each other. I have a 6'-9" bed.
