Cracked engine block

Hello all, I just got a 2017 f350 6.2 engine off an auction it's a salvage title vehicle. Started getting into it and realized my block was cracked. It's kinda hard to get a decent picture of it so I'll do my best to explain it. Basicly at the back of the engine where it mates up with the trans there is a 1-2 inch lip for the flywheel almost a mini bell housing on the engine that consists of all the threaded holes for trans to bolt into. It's this flange that has cracked almost all the way around. No cracks that I can see made it into the engine itself just this flange. Mabye 1 or 2 bolts left holding trans onto the engine. My question is should I take this to the local engine block welding specialist to possibly have this repaired or is it something that will never be strong enough when repaired and look into getting a new block.

Is it too late to give them a call, or it was as is, where is, type of buy? will you be towing a lot with it, or just a mall queen.

You need another engine.

I agree I have a new block on the way I don't want it on the back of my mind. I guess it's something you get eventually that's my 8th truck I've done but that's alright I'll get it fixed up thank you!

There are crack repair people detroit used to send out to dealers with the drill and tap then break away bolts procedure
Look into that
Where is the crack exactly?
Is it cast iron or what?

I sent pictures of it to a local business that only does cast iron repair that's what they specialize in and he felt he could fix it but said it would cost around 2000 most likely.

OMG ! Clutch or flywheel explosion?
Did the same to my Boss 302 in the 80's
That block is not cracked
It's broke
You need a new block
Should be a fun job
Man card stamped by the time you are done

Yeah expensive for sure block flywheel is okay but definitely going to replace still. Just weird thats where it broke trans isn't warped still measures good between bolts based on a know good trans.

That's beyond cracked. Something tells me that it might have been in a wreck.

Probably why it was at the auction with a salvage title.
