Change Thermostat?

Should i change my thermostat if i plan to flush the coolant system? I would flush it my self and put new coolant in but i dont know how hard it would be to change the thermostat. I dont want to taint the new fluid with a dirty thermostat.

Any ideas.

They usually last for years, but if you are going to flush it, it wouldn't hurt to go ahead and change it.

Is it hard to change it? I had a friend ruin an aluminum intake trying to do it on this 1995 5.8L. Do i have to worry about it?
Thanks

The thermostat on your truck is very easy to change. Just 2 bolts after you remove the P/S reservoir bracket which is only 3 small bolts. It doesnt use a gasket, just a big O-ring.
