1984 Ford F150 2WD Side Body Moulding

Hello,

So, I have a 1984 Ford F150 2WD 4.9L 300 I6... I am getting close to installing the side body upper and lower trim moulding on my ground up restoration.

Question: How do you remove the vinyl insert in the middle of the lower body trim? I want to get them repaired, polished and anodized.

Thanks!

They are glued in. See if you can take a heat gun and get them apart. It may be difficult if the glue doesn't want to let loose.

Thanks Franklin2. I am not sure they are glued in. I have a piece (lower drivers door) and its missing the black vinyl. There is no glue residue on it at all. It actually looks like they are pressed into the groove. I have another piece that I won't be using. I think I'll perform a little surgery on it to find out exactly how the vinyl is affixed to the aluminum.

Good looking out though....

Have a nice day!
