propane full time!

I just got word of this from my performance guy that did my propane system. He said that he's going to have a system worked out soon that will give you the option to run propane at a 13-25% rate mixed with the diesel full time (of course you could switch this back to normal operation with a switch and you would still have another switch for the regular propane injection boost). Anyways with this percentage running on the system an F-350 longbed can be expected to have 24 mpg and a boost of about 20, maybe 30 horsepower. Of course this uses propane for which he has a bigger tank that will install opposite the fuel tank undercarriage with a fill nozzle back by the license plate....I will get this the second he gives me the thumbs up on it. Anybody else heard of this? :-huh

You might want to ask Quadzilla on this one. He pointed me to a cool system he uses called "Powershot 2000". So far everything I've read about the system is astounding! I've already started my penny jar to save up for one.

What say you Quadzilla?

The system I have enables you to adjust the propane flow so it comes on as soon as you get measurable boost. I don't think a propane system would work very well if it was on all the time, because the truck won't idle. (Trust me on this, I tried.) When using propane to reduce diesel comsumption, you reach a point where one of two things happen as you increase the propane: you either get pre-detonation which will destroy your engine, or the cost of the propane exceeds the savings in diesel fuel. Granted, propane can/will reduce your fuel consumption, but if you go to far, neither of the options is good.
