Need help wiring an aftermarket radio
 

Im having trouble trying to install an aftermarket radio in my 1988 F350, the previous one worked fine, The wires were atrocious and somehow it worked (I'll post a picture) anyway by going by a few diagrams online and thinking I got everything hooked up right, I turned the key. and nothing happened, just a blank Screen. I checked the fuse, Its not blown, Its got 12v. Oddly enough my ground wire is a green wire screwed directly a piece of metal above my ash tray (or whatever that thing is next to the cigar lighter.) Not sure if there's anything else to note.
The Previous radio was a "Pioneer mvh-s21bt"

Do you have a multimeter? The first thing I would check is to ensure the ground wire is actually ground. The metal plate in the dash may or may not be grounded to the frame, which is the ideal ground point. The next thing I would check is both accessory and permanent 12 volts. You have to have 12v on both to get the radio on. You don't want to run them off of the same 12v though. You need to have accessory powered off of the key to ensure the radio shuts off. If you bought the radio used, you can check the radio using the battery just to make sure it works.

The color code at the link above doesn't match this one, so you might see which one lines up with your truck. I use this site for most of my installs and they are right most of the time, but not always.

You mentioned the fuse is good, but is it the one in the fuse panel or on the radio? Most radios have one on them.

I'm a couple days late to responding, but I took the truck to the shop up the street this morning. He'll look at it. But, I checked everywhere with a multimeter, It was either not showing power, or showing 0.05v and I tested both radios. No luck.

Either the ground is not a good one (my gut says this first) or the power wires need to be traced back and find where they are broken. Sometimes the shop is the easier choice. Let me know what they find out.
